Sunday services

We’d love you to join us this Sunday!

Maitland Evangelical Church (MEC) is a community of Bible-believing and teaching Christians who desire to know Jesus and make Him known in Maitland, and to the world!

We’re one community of believers, gathering across three services.
MEC is for all ages, backgrounds and walks of life. We seek to live for Jesus by teaching and applying the Bible’s life-changing message about him. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.

We run two services; 9:30am at Tocal College and 4pm at Living Hope. Currently this is a new and temporary arrangement. See below for service details & info on parking.

A church for all ages

Sermon series at Maitland Evangelical Church. Sermon on the Mount. Matthew.

1 Corinthians

In Term Two we will be exploring the book of 1 Corinthians.

The message of the cross shows that God uses human weakness to bring about His powerful purposes in salvation. If you’re feeling weak, or as if your own ability and wisdom just aren’t enough, then you’re in good company! Come hear God’s good news and be encouraged in what Christ has done.

sundays 9:30am & 4pm

What to Expect

joining us on sundays

Welcoming

We love visitors and want everyone to feel welcome to join us. Some visitors like to have a chat, others prefer to just watch and listen. Whatever you prefer, we hope you will feel respected and warmly welcomed.

Kids of all ages

Our church is always growing and kids make up an important part of our community here at MEC. We have organised kids programs for kids of all ages, ranging from 0-15 with our Creche, Sunday School and Junior Vine programs. These run during the school term. During school break, you might notice that our services are a little noisier than usual with all the kids in.

60-75 min service

Our services normally run for about 60-75 minutes. Join us afterward for a chat! Most people at our services dress casually. Come dressed in whatever you find comfortable.

Faithful Bible Reading & Preaching

At both our services, we read the Bible together and hear a sermon preached from the passage read. We believe the Bible to be the very Word of God and trust it has the power to save and transform lives by its message. Feel free to listen, follow along with the words on the screen or look up the passage. Ask any questions you have afterwards, we’d love to hear them.

Prayer & Singing

God made us to know him, and prayer is a big part of our relating to God. We usually have one or two people lead us by praying out loud while the rest of us listen and pray silently. We also enjoy the privilege of worshipping God in song every week. This is lead by a band of members from our church with a few songs before and after the sermon. Feel free to listen and join in if you’d like.

No offering to be collected

We do not ask visitors for money, we’re just glad you’re with us. We do provide other ways for regular attenders to give voluntarily. For more on Giving at MEC.
