Grounded Camp & Celebration Sunday

Grounded Camp Saturday 21st October | Celebration Sunday 22nd October 2023
We are gathering on the weekend of 21st – 22nd October 2023 at Tocal College for a time of celebration, teaching, service, fellowship & fun.
Grounded Saturday: Saturday holds all of the best parts of a church camp, with all the perks of staying local. It’s for the whole church. The sessions will include talks on ‘The Church’ from Karl Deenick, and a program for kids in creche, infants and primary school across the morning. After lunch there will be opportunities to work together to serve in various ways, as well as some free time. After an early dinner we will have an evening of games for those who can stick around. The Saturday program will run from 9am-9pm. Grounded is a time to feast on the rich provisions God has lavished on the church, in community and with intentionality.
Celebration Sunday: Then on Sunday 22nd we will come together again for our big Celebration Sunday at Tocal. We are gathering as many as we can of our MEC past and present friends to give thanks to God for His faithfulness to us during these past 21 years. Everyone with connections to MEC are most welcome to come along for the day and we want you to spread the word so that we reach as many past MEC folks as we can.
The day will run from around 9:30am – 1:30pm. We will begin with a more formal thanksgiving church service with teaching from Simon Gillham and then from morning tea through to lunch we will have a big joyful time with old fashioned picnic games and the like. We will end the day with a lunch together which will be provided.
You are welcome for all of the day or for whatever you can manage – we all know that our Sundays are often full.
Registrations for Saturday Grounded Camp have now closed and final numbers have been given to caterers. If you forgot to register you can contact Lea in the office (lea@maitlandchurch.org) and if a spot becomes available we can let you know.
